Spring Flamenco Classes

Students learn the fundamental elements of flamenco including footwork technique, braceo (arm and hand movements), and palmas (hand clapping technique). Castanets will be used. Class includes a warm-up, technique exercises and specific choreographic sequences. No prior experience is needed. Women's attire: long, wide skirt and leather-soled shoes with 1 1/2 inch heels. For men: leather-soled shoes or boots. Purchase of castanets ($18 to $24) will be discussed at first class.
