KIDS
World Arts Celebrations: Chinese Spring Festival - Summer Arts Camp (Ages 5-7)
June 18-June 22, 2012
The Chinese Spring Festival (also known as the Chinese New Year) is the most important festival and holiday in China. Young campers will join the celebration by learning traditional songs about luck and prosperity, designing beautiful props to use in the famous dragon and lion dances, exploring nuo drama, and more! Campers will end their week with a beautiful Lantern Festival.
The arts are used in community celebrations in every culture around the world. Tap into the festive spirit of these artistic events at Darlington Arts Center's 2012 Cultural Summer Arts Camp. Each camp will explore music, visual art, dance and drama from different cultures, as presented in arts festivals world-wide. Students will gain the benefit of learning about diverse cultures and art forms while staying close to home under the direction of professional teaching artists.
Camp size limited. Pre-registration is required. Before- and after-care is available.
