LECTURES & LITERATURE

Sacred and Inviolable: Sally Wister and Deborah Norris Logan
March 1, 2012
Sally Wister and Deborah Norris Logan had a close friendship during their teenage years. These women provide typical examples of eighteenth century female friendship among Pennsylvania Quakers. In a culture in which religious ties were also social and educational, relationships between women and girls combined expressions of friendship with literary exchange. This program will be presented by Rebecca Rosen, Doctoral Candidate at Princeton University.
Bring a bag lunch for this lecture exploring Quaker women and friendship, with special consideration for the relationship between Sally Wister and Deborah Norris Logan.
