    Historian Nico Slate presents the first detailed examination of the world's two largest democracies, the United States and India, and the shared struggle for freedom faced by African Americans and Indians. Slate explores a hidden history and shares stories of the activists who worked across borders of race and nation to push both countries toward achieving their democratic principles.
