This promises to be an enjoyable afternoon of stringed instruments from Africa. Exciting performances of Kala Jojo in the tradition joined by his son on percussion. Stories, song, rhythms, sharing. This is a wonderful family event. Learn about the origins of guitar-like instruments from Africa. Bring instruments to play and share; kalimbas, drums, shakers, and various stringed instruments are all welcome.

There will be a short lecture on the history and construction of the precursors of the guitar, followed by a community musical collaboration.

Presented by Monnette Sudler's Philadelphia Guitar Summit in partnership with Art Sanctuary.
