Clear Toy Candy: A Sweet Tradition
December 1, 2012
Most children 100 years ago hoped for a piece of clear toy candy in their Christmas stocking. The three-dimensional shapes shined like glass. Come for an informative presentation on the history of this beloved holiday treat and then see how it was made using antique molds. This presentation will take place in the Classroom Bldg. Call site for specific directions.
Afterward, why not take a free Guided Tour of the holiday decorations at the Pennypacker mansion? All tours stop in the Galleries and Museum Shop where Victorian inspired gift items, ornaments, and home decor items are sold. Tours are offered 10 am-4 pm and last for approximately one hour. Last tour is at 3 pm.
