Get Inspired with Rod Kim and friends every second Thursday
February 9, 2012
It's all about you now. All about who? We may never know. Though Rod Kim's previous project, A Fortunate Consequence, was about the one that got away, he has yet to give any hints as to what the songs on his latest release All About You were inspired by. They could be about almost anything this time around. Within the last year, Rod quit his day job, left his home, moved into his car and set out on a 365 day tour across the US playing gigs, collaborating with songwriters of every genre, finding his muse and relying on music to provide.
It's a lot to take in and it seems that it's just the beginning. Still wondering if it's really all about you? Just ask Rod yourself:
"Something that I've learned playing in front of audiences of all kinds is that though these songs came from a time and place in me, they connect with friends and strangers in a time and place that they're at. It's not just about me anymore. Sometimes I'm angry, happy, sad, broken and inspired, and those moments connect with others. There are
plenty of times it’s about me, but this time…it's all about you."
