Getting Outside has its Benefits
January 16-January 18, 2012
Bring your “outdoorable” children to explore Morris Aboretum’s Winter Garden! January is a great time to discover the garden and its winter blooms.
As you walk along the paved path of our 92-acre garden, look for hellebores, beautiful perennials of various colors and winter jasmine, a pretty yellow bud that grows in the rock wall in the Rose Garden. Search along the length of the Haas Oak Allèe for wintersweet flowers that are very fragrant and wonderfully detailed. And you’re sure to find witchhazel, one of the first blooming shrubs, which is throughout the garden and has a spicy, sweet scent.
