Civilians during Wartime
January 18, 2012
Join the Rosenbach for a salon-style world premiere musical performance, where composer-pianist Dave Burrell will give voice to the anxieties and fears of the mothers, brothers, civilian spies, and runaway slaves living through the Civil War though far from the battlefields.
This is the second installment of a 5-part series celebrating the 150th anniversary of the Civil War. Civilians during Wartime includes six pieces inspired by the Rosenbach's Civil War collections.
An intimate question-and-answer session with the performers will follow the performance.
