One of the wise men of United States foreign policy, Zbigniew Brzezinski is a political scientist, geostrategist, and statesman who served as United States National Security Advisor to President Jimmy Carter from 1977 to 1981. A leading Cold War strategist and trustee of the Trilateral Commission, he received the Presidential Medal of Freedom in 1981 for emphasizing human rights in U.S. foreign policy. His many books include the New York Times bestsellers Second Chance and The Choice. He is currently the Robert E. Osgood Professor of American Foreign Policy at Johns Hopkins University's School of Advanced International Studies and a scholar at the Center for Strategic and International Studies. In Strategic Vision, Brzezinski explains America’s vital role in achieving global stability and a peaceful 21st century.
