Batik is an ancient form of decorating fabrics using a wax resist technique. Intricate and colorful designs can be created by applying molten wax to fabric, followed by an application of dyes. Demos, hands-on work and experimentation will teach students how to develop an idea, transfer their design to silk and bring it to life using watercolor technique, brushes and other tools.
