CLASSES & WORKSHOPS

Winsor & Newton Watercolor Demo
January 14, 2012
We’ll begin with a history of waterborne pigments and then move to hands-on demos and experimentation. Zachary will first discuss how gum arabic and honey were originally used as binding agent and then how the introduction of led tubes and cakes in the mid 1800s radically changed art. Participants will also explore the medium on paper and try a number of interesting techniques such as the use of liquid frisket and masking mediums, granulation medium, aquapasto, lifting preparation and iridescent medium. We will experiment with a variety of opaque and transparent colors and after a Q&A session; participant will receive a free sample.
