    One of the most trusted and respected figures in broadcast journalism, Tom Brokaw anchored NBC Nightly News for 21 years, from 1983 to 2004, during which time he reported on landmark national and world events as well as presented several in-depth documentaries on subjects ranging from the war on terror to literacy and immigration. He has received numerous honors, including the Edward R. Murrow Lifetime Achievement Award, the Emmy Award for Lifetime Achievement, and multiple Peabody Awards. He is currently a special correspondent for NBC News and the author of many bestselling books including The Greatest Generation, about those who came of age during World War II and went on to shape modern America.
