LECTURES & LITERATURE

Connections Beyond Our Garden; Talks on People, Plants and Place
December 7, 2011
Join Jane Golden for a Lecture on "Transforming Public Spaces and Individual Lives: Philadelphia Mural Arts Program." What began as an experiment in 1984 to redirect the energies of graffiti writers is now, 3,000 murals later, the largest mural program in the counrty. Jane Golden, the founder and leader of Philadelphia's Mural Arts Program, will lead a slideshow "tour" through Philadelphia's streets. Included will be a selection of the hundred plus murals that have a nature theme and are often accompanied by restored lot gardens and parks.
