What happens when tradition meets innovation? When big meets small? When serious meets playful? Join PAFA for a night of surprising overlaps, places where disparate ideas or people come together with surprising results. The grand canvases of the Historic Landmark Building receive an irreverent interpretation by local personality Hennessy Youngman and the public premiere of Bill Viola’s Ocean Without A Shore explores the threshold between life and death. A Jumping the Gun gallery talk looks at canvases that capture the more literal collision course of mankind’s penchant for war and the Gloves Off! Scavenger Hunt explores the interpersonal explosions between some of art’s biggest personalities. And hey, if you missed the Print Sale, never fear! Student artists will have lithographs, etchings, woodcuts and other creations on sale in the galleries at holiday prices, and you can provide the best collision these young folks could hope for: their art with your wallet.
