Come celebrate Oscuro Quintet’s first album release concert and tango dance party at the World Café Live.

Philadelphia's first tango music ensemble, Oscuro Quintet, was founded in 2006 in pursuit of tango tradition and creation of new music, starting a new path for the genre’s evolution. Oscuro is comprised of musicians from diverse and unorthodox musical paths. Their unmistakable sound embodies the international rhythms and influences of tango, jazz, and contemporary music and have traversed the intimate tango dance halls to the Philadelphia Museum of Art, and most recently, NYC’s Tango Factory.

This self-titled album provides a document of the Quintet's dedication to both well-established staples of tango and new, progressive forms of the genre, including pieces composed by members of the group. Oscuro will perform songs from the album as well as its newest works and will be joined by special tango artists.
