Since April, young filmmakers in Scribe’s Documentary History Project for Youth have been using video and audio recording devices to document a wide variety of local sounds – personal narratives, industrial sounds, sounds of nature, human sounds, sounds of motion, sounds of stillness – as well as how the soundscape of Philadelphia has changed over time. Celebrate the premiere of these short audio and video works that explore Philadelphia’s rich history and diverse neighborhoods through sound. Researched, written, shot, edited, and curated by Hiwot Adilow, Ezra J. Ali-Dow, Aubrey Backues, Saria Cooper-Burks, Mei Mei Mc Dowell, Kaleb Thomas Mosley, Imani Ross, Michelle Saul-Yamasaki, Stephen Skeel, and Obasi Tahir.
