In anticipation of the premiere of one of PAFA's newest acquisitions—Bill Viola's Ocean Without a Shore—this talk will walk through some of the most iconic pieces of video art from past decades. Joshua Mosley, artist and Associate Professor of Fine Art at UPenn, will show selections of important works and speak about how video art as a medium has developed and changed, noting particularly how Viola's past and present body of work falls into the taxonomy of the art form.
