Works on display will include: paintings, fabric designs, swatches, a line of scarves, illustrated chronicles, fashion designs, several books written and illustrated by Alex, and finally, a unique wall drawing. Alex Stadler received a BFA in Printmaking from the Rhode Island School of Design in 1990 and then went from Providence to Buenos Aires before moving to Philadelphia where he began designing textiles in addition to writing and illustrating children’s books. As an independent designer he has created work for Commes des Garcons, Jack Lenore Larson, Donghia, Nina Campbell Ltd., Todd Oldham and Baby Gap. He has created wall drawings for Colette in Paris, Lori McLean in Greenwich Village, and Joan Shepp in Philadelphia. Concurrently with this exhibition Alex is curating a Pop-up show at the Philadelphia Museum of Art.
