CLASSES & WORKSHOPS

Tibetan Thangka Painting Evening Class: Drawing Tibetan Mantras
November 14, 2011
These 3 Tibetan syllables reflect what we call the ‘3 doors': both the state of our present body, speech and mind, and our potential to purify them in order to reach the highest state of enlightenment. It reminds you of your own inner essence and potential of purification and has this wish as well for all other sentient beings. Therefore this mantra is especially used as a blessing. This evening you will learn more about the meaning of this mantra and how to draw / paint it in the Tibetan calligraphy. Materials to bring: a sheet of thick drawing paper (11"x17" or larger), a ruler, HB pencils (pref. a mechanical pencil) and an eraser. Color pencils or paints are optional.
