Philadelphia Jewish Film Festival Presents: I Miss You (Te Extraño)
November 13, 2011
Amidst the brutality of Videla’s military dictatorship, Javier, a 15-year-old Argentinian Jew, is forced to leave his family and home in Buenos Aires for Mexico City. Adrian, the older brother who Javier idolizes, is missing afer risking everything to stand up to his country’s “Dirty War.” With the fate of his brother unknown, a distraught and disillusioned Javier must come to terms with his own identity, nationhood, and mortality. This tender coming-of-age film explores the pains of growing up in a world that shelters itself from the same truths it forces us to face.
In Spanish with English subtitles.
