International House Philadelphia's month long celebration of the arts of India culminates in an evening of Indian music and dance. Usiloquy Dance Designs performs pieces based on the techniques of Indian Classical dance Bharatanatyam. Commemorated by lighting earthen oil lamps 'diyas' and fire crackers, Diwali symbolizes the triumph of light over darkness. It is celebrated by millions making it one of the biggest annual festivals in South Asia. Join Usiloquy this Diwali for a percussive, light filled welcome to the festive season. Live Hindustani and folk music by Jeremy Dyen and musicians!
