LECTURES & LITERATURE

Celebrate the Tenth Anniversary of the APS Museum with Adam Gopnik
December 14, 2011
The APS Museum celebrates its tenth anniversary this year with an evening lecture by art historian, cultural critic and New Yorker writer Adam Gopnik. Fans of Gopnik’s diverse contributions to the magazine know that his interests range from John Stuart Mill to Babar, and from Darwin to dogs. His lecture will link his new book The Table Comes First: Family, France and the Meaning of Food to the museum’s exhibition Of Elephants and Roses. The book’s journey through gastronomic history begins with the same Post-Revolutionary period that is examined in the show. The lecture will be followed by wine pairings with hors-d’oeuvres. The exhibition will be open for viewing beginning at 4:30 pm.
