The relationship between people and objects is a crucial avenue of investigation in understanding past cultures.

Employing case studies from Jordan, Israel, and the Palestinian Authority, Dr. Morag Kersel, DePaul University, examines the appeal of relics from the Holy Land, as well as the collection of archaeological materials, the effects on the archaeological landscape, and the object biographies of those artifacts enmeshed in the antiquities trade.
