What happens when a city girl trades in her stilettos for fishing waders? Writer Erin Byers Murray finds out when she steps into the cold, briny waters off the coast of New England and joins the rugged crew of oyster farmers at Island Creek Oysters. Join her for a dinner and talk about her new book Shucked—part memoir, part love letter and part documentary about the world’s most beloved bivalves.

DiNardo’s Famous Crabs hosts the event, offering a full meal with oyster samplings from its kitchen and raw bar.

Erin Byers Murray is a Boston-area journalist, specializing in food and wine writing. Most recently, she was the Boston editor for DailyCandy.com. Her work has been published in the Boston Globe, Food and Wine, Boston Magazine and Bon Appétit.
