Writers from the University of Pennsylvania Master of Liberal Arts (MLA) program share their work aloud at free, 15-minute memoir readings during select nights of the Festival. Grab a drink from the Festival Cafe and hear real life stories from Philadelphia’s newest writers before our evening programming begins.

The College of Liberal and Professional Studies (LPS) is housed in the School of Arts and Sciences at the University of Pennsylvania. LPS offers the kind of innovative liberal studies programs that highly motivated students seek. LPS offers degree and non-degree options at the undergraduate, post-baccalaureate, and graduate levels, as well as international and summer opportunities.

The Penn MLA is a unique interdisciplinary graduate program. Full or part-time MLA students create their own concentrations and enjoy an opportunity to study writing along with a range of liberal arts in this nine-course program of study.
