    Since the time of Homer, travelers were fascinated by the hundreds of burial mounds of Bin Tepe, as well as the ruins of Sardis in Turkey. Today, Bin Tepe constitutes the largest protected archaeological landscape in Turkey. Dr. Christina Luke, Boston University, discusses how the archeological heritage of the area represents only one aspect of the story.
