Remembering the Night of Terror
November 17, 2011
The Night of Terror recognizes the 33 suffragists who were arrested for nonviolent protest and were beaten in prison by guards on November 15, 1917. Everyone is invited to meet at the New Century Guild building (1307 Locust Street) for a discussion about this historic event and the women’s suffrage movement, and then gather at HSP for a look at some of the society's materials which document the history of women’s rights and a reception. Teachers may receive Act 48 credit. Co-sponsored by the New Century Trust and the Alice Paul Institute.
