Shuttle Commander Chris Ferguson with Derrick Pitts

The Franklin Institute and NASTAR Foundation welcome Shuttle Commander and Philadelphia Native Chris Ferguson with Derrick Pitts! This summer, Commander Chris Ferguson led the final US shuttle mission to the International Space Station. When the shuttle returned on July 20th it marked the end of a 30-year NASA program. Please join The Franklin Institute and the NASTAR Foundation in honoring Commander Ferguson and his many achievements. Commander Ferguson and The Franklin Institute’s Chief Astronomer Derrick Pitts will take a look back at the final mission and also delve into a fascinating discussion on the future of the US space program.
This special event kicks off World Space Week 2011 and will take place on the evening of Tuesday, October 4th in The Franklin Institute’s Franklin Theater.
