Well before the hit TV series Glee and a cappella group Straight No Chaser, The King’s Singers’ six-man vocal ensemble set the bar high with their performance-based musical numbers of classics and contemporary hits. Today, The King’s Singers maintain a deep commitment to new choral music and have commissioned over 200 works from a host of prominent contemporary composers including Peter Maxwell Davies, Gian Carlo Menotti, Ned Rorem, John Rutter, Toru Takemitsu, and John Tavener. The King’s Singers program will include music by Francis Poulenc, Thomas Morley, and others as well as the lighter side of their close harmony repertoire.
