Organ Concert featuring Felix Hell
October 22, 2011
A phenomenon in several ways, German concert organist Felix Hell has been hailed as the most well known young concert organist worldwide and one of the major talents of the century. Felix Hell has had an active concert career since the age of nine and has already performed more than 700 recitals in his native Germany, as well as throughout the world. At the age of 18 he received his Bachelor of Music degree from the Curtis Institute of Music in Philadelphia—making him the youngest organ major ever to graduate from this prestigious institute. Highlights of the program will include Samuel Barber’s Adagio for Strings, Johann Sebastian Bach’s Prelude and Fugue in D-Major and Felix Mendelssohn’s Sonata No. 1 in F Minor.
