A woman feels estranged from her husband as she tries to hide her mental illness and feelings of alienation. Set in the industrial throngs of post-WWII Italy, Red Desert depicts the challenge of adjusting to the modern, mechanized world. Starring Monica Vitti and Richard Harris, Michelangelo Antonioni's drama will be screened from a newly struck 35mm print!

    Red Desert
is shown in conjunction with Bryn Mawr Film Institute's film course "Michelangelo Antonioni: Landscapes of the Soul," and will be introduced by its instructor, Maurizio Giammarco, Ph.D.

The film is not rated, runs 2 hours, and is in Italian with English subtitles.
