Named for the mythical Greek inventor and artist who devised wings enabling him to fly, the Daedalus Quartet was founded in the summer of 2000 and, one year later, won the Grand Prize of the Banff International String Quartet Competition. Quartets by Haydn and Dvorák highlight a program that also includes the Philadelphia premiere of Daniel Godfrey’s Ricordanza-speranza with the Curtis Institute’s outstanding Natalie Zhu on piano.
