Jewish Perspectives on Urban Agriculture and Food Justice
November 17, 2011
Cities are playing an increasingly important part of a sustainable future, and a large component of that is urban food production. Simultaneously throughout the large urban centers in the US, millions of people lack access to healthy, fresh, sustainably produced food. In this text study and discussion, Nati Passow, Executive Director of the Jewish Farm School, will share some perspectives on urban agriculture and food justice from the Jewish tradition. We will look at various challenges currently facing Philadelphia, as well as some of the inspiring projects currently underway making real change. Light refreshments provided by Cafe Olam.
