Jerome Groopman, M.D. and Pamela Hartzband, M.D. are on the staff of Boston’s Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center and the faculty of Harvard Medical School. Married for more than 20 years, they have collaborated on articles for the New York Times, the Wall Street Journal, and the New England Journal of Medicine. Dr. Groopman, a staff writer for The New Yorker, is the author of four books, including the New York Times bestseller How Doctors Think. A hematologist and oncologist, his research centers on cancer and AIDS. Dr. Hartzband is a noted endocrinologist and educator. In Your Medical Mind, the doctors aim to assist patients in weeding through information from doctors, statistics, crafty drug ads and the internet when making critical health decisions.
