Explore the process and methods of creating sculpture in the exhibition “Handmade: The Process of Sculpture” at the Delaware College of Art and Design. DCAD’s Toni and Stuart B. Young Gallery will feature the work of six established artists, all of whom use a variety of media–from paper to found objects, to wood and metal, and represent a range from pop art to abstract, expressionist art. The exhibition will feature the work of artists Dennis Beach, Bob Bickey, Elizabeth Duffy, Erica Loustau, David Meyer, and Victor Spinski. Curating the exhibition are Stan Smokler and Constance Simon, Area Coordinators of Foundation at DCAD. Smokler, a sculptor, has participated in many group and solo exhibitions, and his sculptures are represented in many major collections. He is represented by the Kim Foster Gallery in New York City. Simon, a painter and printmaker, has taught at many colleges and museums, and also exhibited work throughout the region. Her work has been published in Artist’s Magazine, American Artist and Art Matters. This exhibition is sponsored by Bank of America.
