Miguel Harth-Bedoya, conductor. Singers from the Curtis Opera Theatre. Featuring: Danielpour, Toward the Splendid City; Bernstein, Selections from West Side Story; Prokofiev, Symphony No. 5 in B-flat major, Op. 100. Prokofiev's mercurial, soaring wartime symphony meets the sharp, streetwise lyricism of Curtis alumnus Leonard Bernstein. Faculty member and former Bernstein student Richard Danielpour provides the prelude, "full of gleaming, glass and steel accents" (Newsday). This tuneful program features Miguel Harth-Bedoya and singers from the Curtis Opera Theatre.
