Chrysanthemum Festival
October 29-November 20, 2011
During the Chrysanthemum Festival, more than 20,000 colorful, blooming chrysanthemums flourish in the palatial Conservatory. Longwood’s experts have trained these fall favorites into unique forms including towering single-stemmed beauties and thousand-bloomers. New this year: Longwood Gardens be featuring a unique multi-grafted mum where over 100 different flower varieties are grafted to one plant! Topiary forms, including butterflies, spirals and the largest thousand bloom chrysanthemum ever, with 991 blooms, adorn the Conservatory.
