STICKY BUNS BURLESQUE Sticky Buns Burlesque is a Baltimore/ D.C. based troupe dedicated to pushing boundaries in both the art form of burlesque and our society at large. We produce original, high caliber shows that artfully and mindfully explore a cohesive theme, concept, or narrative. Our innovative performances will empower and entertain audiences by challenging conventions with sexy, comedic commentary. We aim to create tableaux of strange and arresting beauty through liberating, joyous performance, and desire to take our audiences on journeys that make them laugh, think, revel in bizarre freakishness, and feel alive. http://stickybunsburlesque.com/ SISTERS 3 "There is a story to our music. The tale was begun when we were young. It is a memory cloud, a visceral experience comprised of rock gardens, video games, antique markets and midnight giggling. There's no way of telling it all, so we won't. We are 3 of 8 birds, all homeschooled in a cozy little nest in Pennsylvania. Our music is an extension of that love, of that life, of that birth. We are compelled to bring that warmth to the world in the only way that we know so far...through art: in this case through song. We believe putting goodness into the air permeates the heart and provokes loving words from lips...love spreads like forest fires. This music is a time capsule made up of song writing, collage making, classical music playing, doo-wop listening, blue hair dying, whale and mermaid crying siren calls, thrift stores and rock and roll. That is the beginning...the source. We officially formed as a trio in 2005 at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival in Scotland. It was at the Sterling Castle that we harmonized a doo-wop song our father taught us when we realized that “this” is what we wanted to do with our lives. In that same year we met Canadian producer Glen Marshall (feist, broken social scene) at a folk conference in New York. In 2006 we were whisked away to Canada to record our first full length album as a group titled “Star Spangled” which was released in 2008. That same year, the Sisters3 record vocals for CBS recording artist Sharon Little and Cas goes on tour with her as the opening act for Robert Plant, Alison Krauss and T-Bone Burnett’s cross county Rising Sands tour. The Sisters3 have had the honor of playing NXNE, SXSW, CMJ, The Mountain Stage, The International Folk Alliance Conference and The Edinburgh Fringe Festival. They have Appeared on The NBC “10! Show”, Mountain Stage and Good Day New York. Members of the band have appeared with Sharon Little on tour with Robert Plant, Alison Krauss and T-Bone Burnett on their 2008 “Rising Sands” tour on stages such as The Red Rocks Amphitheater CO, The Greek Theater in LA, The Hollywood Bowl, The MANN and Madison Square Garden. We have been to work with several friends and inspirations around philly including hoots and hellmouth, Sharon Little, Raphael Cutrufello (Hezekiah Jones), Tom Hamilton (American Babies), worked with producers including Marc Howard (Bob Dylan Emmylou Harris etc), Don Was (The Rolling Stones, Ringo Starr etc.), Glen Marshall (Feist, Broken Social Scene, Peter Yarrow etc), Bill Moriarty (Dr. Dog) and Brian McTear (Espers, Kurt Vile, Hoots and Hellmouth etc). The story goes on and on and will until our last breath. " http://sisters3music.com/2011/
