    Media's Bastille Day Celebration
    2nd Saturday in July
    July 9th, 6-10:30pm
    Downtown Media
Our most exciting 2nd Saturday is our annual Bastille Day celebration, scheduled for July 9, 2011. State Street is transformed into an arts-filled scene from history, featuring professional theater presentations, visual art displays, live music and dancing, children’s activities and crafts, and more.
Join us for a reenactment of the Storming of Bastille, live music, and many street activities including strolling performers, plein air painters, silk painting, tie dying, and more. Our main stage performance features renowned Louisiana band Leroy Thomas and the Zydeco Roadrunners.
M.A.C. celebrates Bastille Day as an historic event symbolic of the freedom that paved the way for, among other things, artistic expression. The Bastille Day celebration will offer attendees of all ages a unique experience filled with art, music and historical attractions. More than 40 businesses participate, along with numerous artists, musicians, and performers. This will be a memorable independence celebration for the entire family to enjoy.
