Henry Miller predicted that Erica Jong’s Fear of Flying would “make literary history… because of it, women are going to find their own voice and give us great sagas of sex, life, joy, and adventure.” The book became an international best seller with almost 20 million copies in print. Jong continued her success with numerous books of poetry and nonfiction, including the popular memoir Fear of Fifty. In Sugar in My Bowl, Jong and a host of prominent voices explore women’s sexuality with candor, answering the question, “What do women want?” The revelations are as varied as the writers. Julie Klam has written for such publications as O: The Oprah Magazine, Rolling Stone, and Harper's Bazaar, and for the VH1 television show Pop-Up Video, where she earned an Emmy nomination for Outstanding Special Class Writing. In her first book, Please Excuse My Daughter, Klam chronicles her journey through marriage, motherhood, and employment. With You Had Me at Woof, she reveals the often hilarious lessons learned from her pets. Philadelphia native Karen Abbott is the author of Sin in the Second City and American Rose, both narrative nonfiction about sexually powerful historical female figures—and both New York Times bestsellers. Sin in the Second City probes the titillating milieu of the posh, world-famous Everleigh Club brothel and the two sisters who ran it. American Rose uncovers the private world of Gypsy Rose Lee from her early vaudeville career—with diabolical stage mom, Rose—to her fame as the queen of striptease.
