Ray seeks out a reclusive author to help him understand the meaning of the messages and the purpose for his field. Cast includes: Amy Madigan, James Earl Jones, Kevin Costner, Gabby Hoffman and Ray Liotta. Running time: 107 minutes. Rated PG. Original short story: "Shoeless Joe Jackson Coes to Iowa" by W.P. Kinsella. Screenplay by: Phil Alden Robinson.
