The South Street Headhouse District’s Annual Summer Indie Film Series hits week two! June 22nd, South Street Headhouse District will be featuring On the Waterfront, a fifties classic film about the struggles between union workers and their superiors. The film will be prefaced by a collection of local short films as a tribute to the Director of On the Waterfront, Elia Kazan. Lawrence Smallwood, Conference Director of Philafilm, will be the guest speaker for the night. Participation and parking are free, so bring a friend and a chair to enjoy the night! Each Wednesday from June 15th to August 31st, the District will feature an independent film highlighting local filmmakers, stylists, makeup artists and more. All films will be viewed in Headhouse Square on 2nd Street between Pine and Lombard underneath the Historic Shambles. Each week, a guest speaker will introduce the headlining film, followed by the feature presentation.
