IVA is one of the few formally-trained opera singers to dive full-on into pop music. She's just moved back to the States after breaking in Sweden, where she signed her label to Universal and released "Ivolution" to nationwide TV and radio play. At the same time, she made her formal debut at the Royal Opera Stockholm. Not bad for a chick who keeps long hours in a basement rock studio.
IVA got her first break at a gym in New York City. A night school student at Juilliard, she was asked to sing a skit on the Conan O'Brien show. Band leader Max Weinberg liked her style and she was asked back to the show several times. Then she headed to Sweden to study opera in the home of her ancestors.

Her style's been described as a mix between Madonna and Enya, but who knows what she'll do next. She's got a stage presence like she's spaced to another planet, and who's to say. She's a local to our area to boot.
