Celebrate Independence Day by travelling back in time to see what happened in the 1776 Philadelphia Countryside when Independence was declared. Join Colonists gathering to hear the Declaration of Independence read and participate in the crowd’s reactions as freedom is declared. Many doubt Americans can defeat the world’s greatest army. Some are still loyal to the Crown. Patriots are determined to win the crowd with demonstrations against the King. See demonstrations of everyday life like hearth cooking and the long rifle. Try some colonial activities yourself. Enjoy garden and animal talks. Bring a picnic basket and blanket or purchase refreshments.
