The Synth Sircus WyldLyfe, One.Man.And, Dragon Wed, June 29, 2011 9:00 pm The Blockley Philadelphia, PA $5.00 TicketsShare On FacebookShare On TwitterShare This Event The Synth Sircus WebsiteMySpaceFacebook Links Based out of Philadelphia and featuring a rotating lineup of synth, keyboard players, electronic instrumentologists, DJs, VJs, performance artists & sword swallowers...the SYNTH SIRCUS is “like Wu-Tang meets Kraftwerk!" Not unlike VOLTRON, each member comes from a different band and/location, and when summoned, fuses together to create a type of 'super-hybrid Synth Collective', otherwise known as: "The SYNTH SIRCUS", Bringing to the stage an unusual array of performance art and circus sideshow attractions, the Sircus is known for costumes, on-stage antics and strange applications of technology. Look out for different players and instrumentation from one show to the next - all culminating in an analog assault of improvisational textures, sonic frequencies and tones that are never duplicated twice. Helmed by dual-VJs who bend and manipulate videos and live images in real-time, the Synth Sircus is a feast of the senses, promoting both audible and visual enticement! Since development in early 2010, the scope and spectrum of their ‘analog side-show’ has flourished into a mushrooming fog of robotic fanfare! The core group of synth enthusiasts at the center of the Sircus are armed with an ever-growing arsenal of modified gadgets ranging from talking computers, classic video game consoles, vocodors, ipads, pods and circuit-bent toys which are modified popular electronics that were never originally intended to be used to create music. Synth Sircus' live stage show features audience controlled lighting systems, boombox-powered Gameboys and repurposed electronic toys from yesteryear. The Sircus refuses to be strictly confined to stages and venues! Onlookers have been surprised by renegade public performances at various regional hot-spots including 30th Street Station, the Philadelphia Art Museum and the parking lot of Camden’s recent Phish shows. Audiences gawk at an ever-changing lineup of freaks, geeks, and special guest musicians as they join the musical mad-scientist side show attractions on stage. So, at the next Synth Sircus performance, listen for the carnival barker to exclaim: – "be stunned when the Synth Sircus defies logic as they perform without a net! WyldLyfe Website Links "How we met - 3 story lines that become 1 but that are creatively, and artistically separate. WyldLyfe stands for unified diversity and so under this platform, each artist explores his own progression as it fuels the larger animal. After 2 years together, WyldLyfe has been etching a name for itself throughout Philadelphia and the Tri-State area. With every exposure, WyldLyfe leaves nothing behind but open minds, inspired hearts, and one request “stay productive”. The foundation for this group rests in the hands of it’s three leaders: Chess, Poole, and Ty. Sitting at the core of the movement, they bring their own personal touches to the experience and blend Hip-Hop/Rock/R&B/Reggae (and any influence they can get their minds on) like you’ve never seen before. The full live experience ranges the ages of 20-24 (with Bob Beach being 60) and is fronted by the three vocalists Chess (Lyricist), Poole (Lyricist), and Ty (Vocalist/Lyricist). On stage and in the studio WyldLyfe is backed by the combination of bass, electric/acoustic guitar, keyboard, drums, flute/harmonica, horns, strings and whatever else fits the moment. WyldLyfe is inspired and propelled by the complex rythms and motifs of lyfe. Their music seeks not only to inspire those around them but to deliver these complex themes in the most enjoyable format possible. As Ty puts it, “we seek to tap into every sense that we can…even smell. You know we gotta smell good too!”. Take a seat with any one of these young visionaries and it won’t take long to realize the passion that drives them. They really believe they are at the wheel of their own destinies - what’s more, the belief is contagious; ask any WyldLyfe fan. With the support of many local and national music front-runners, it’s almost inevitable that WyldLyfe is going to be taking the world by storm for many years to come.
