You may be surprised to find out that great things have come out of Philadelphia besides Rocky and Cheese Steaks. One of those things is The Better Half. Formed in early 2008, the band has quickly taken the Philadelphia / New Jersey area by storm with infectious melodies, high energy live performances, and a devotion to their fans that is second to none. While the band draws from a diverse pallet of influences including artists that range from Foo Fighters to Tom Petty, The Better Half has carved out a sound that is uniquely theirs with pop-rock songs such as "Brand New Day"and their darker, introspective radio single "Rain." Having had radio airplay of their last release Equilibrium in the Philadelphia, Allentown, and New Brunswick markets, having supported artists such as Halestorm and Cavo at sold out shows, and having headlined some of the top venues in the Philadelphia / New Jersey area, the band is primed and ready to explode into the national spotlight. Due out this summer, The Better Half is currently finishing their first full-length studio release, with a collection of songs that goes deeper, bigger, and farther than the band has ever been. Plans are in the works for a regional and possibly a southern-tour, slated for mid-summer to support the album. "We could not be more grateful for all the love and support our fans have shown us, and we cannot wait to bring everyone some new music. All of these songs are written from the heart with all of the passion, pain, and inspiration you would hope for from a band.
