    Just in time for summer, the Mercer Museum  will open its new 13,000-square-foot wing to the public. The green building is the first of its kind in Doylestown. the new wing of the Mercer Museum provides a 3,500-square-foot state-of-the-art changing exhibition gallery, education space and resources in the new 1,000-square-foot Learning Center and superior visitor amenities including ADA upgrades, improved parking facilities and visitor services. It includes many environmentally-friendly and energy-saving components – from its green roof, water-conserving bathroom fixtures and radiant heat concrete flooring slabs to the recycled-content wall panels in the new exhibit gallery.   Festivities will include a ribbon-cutting,  live music including a drum/percussion performance by Drummers with Attitude, a “Rollo and Friends” puppet show, craft demonstrations, a Henry Mercer character and much more.

    * Welcome and Ribbon-cutting in the Great Hall, 10:15 am
    * “Henry is in the House” - meet Henry Mercer in the Great Hall, immediately following the ribbon cutting
    *“Rollo and Friends: A Mercer Puppet Show.” Performances at 11am and 2pm in the Learning Center
    * “A is for Archaeology” Craft Activity, 12noon-1:30pm in the Learning Center
    * Craft Demonstration in the Gallery, Bucks County Embroidery Guild, 1pm-4 pm
    * Make a Print at the Mercer “Expeditions” Hands-on Cart, 2pm-4pm
    * African Rhythms/Percussion Performance by Nashid Ali, Mercer Central Court, 12:30pm & 1:30pm
    * Clifford Cole & LA Williams, “Traditional Celtic Dance Music - Hammered Dulcimer and Fiddle, 2:30pm & 3:30pm

        The first 100 visitors admitted FREE! 
        $10 for adults, $9 for seniors(65+), $5 for youth (ages 6-17) and free for museum members and children under six-years-old.
