June 4-June 13, 2011
Ars Nova Workshop, Philadelphia’s leading nonprofit jazz and experimental music presenter, announces “AACM | Great Black Music”, a two-week long festival in Philadelphia combining performances by members of the legendary Association for the Advancement of Creative Musicians (AACM) and public discussions between AACM members, music scholars and writers. From June 4 to June 13, the festival's five events will celebrate the singular contributions of the AACM to the history and ongoing expansion of experimental music with each event presented at a unique venue across Philadelphia.
