THEATRE

Guys and Dolls
May 27-May 28, 2011
Set in New York City, this hilarious classic introduces us to colorful characters Sarah Brown, the upright "mission doll", Sky Masterson, the slick, high-rolling gambler who woos her on a bet and ends up falling in love; Adelaide, a performer whose chronic cold is brought on by the fact she's been engaged to the same man for 14 years; and Nathan Detroit, her devoted fiancé, desperate as always to find a spot for his infamous floating dice game. The State Theatre is thrilled to offer this wonderful challenge for more experienced students to explore a beloved musical comedy. Songs include "Fugue for Tinhorns", "I've Never Been in Love Before", "Bushel and A Peck", "Sit Down You're Rockin' the Boat", "Luck Be a Lady", "If I Were A Bell". Guys and Dolls will be performed by the 11 to 14 year old class of Singing Onstage. Singing Onstage is the premiere musical theatre training and performance studio in State College providing professional musical theatre training and performance experience to children and adults. Musical theatre professionals Richard and Heidi Biever have been teaching and producing shows in State College since 2002.
